ZELMOT company was established in 1910 as a joint-stock company which was producing housing lighting equipment. In the 1930`s, along with the development of polish automotive industry, the company started to produce headlamps and auxiliary lamps for cars and tractors. After the second world war the company continued its activity as ZELMOT S.A. and became one of the biggest suppliers of electrotechnical equipment for automotive industry in Poland.

ZELMOT HANDEL Ltd. was established as the organizationally independent part of Zelmot Holding structure in 1998 mainly for the trade purposes. Since July 2000 Zelmot Handel Ltd. has also been distributing electronics and some sophisticated lighting parts for headlamps. In September 2004 the name of our company was changed into ZELMOT ELECTRIC Sp. z o.o. The aim of this change was a better harmonisation of the company's name with its field of activity.

In July 2008 production of Zelmot Electric has been taken over by Polish company Wesem and will be continued.
